BERLIN (EJP)---The Central Council of Jews in Germany is considering a criminal complaint against You Tube for allowing videos that promote racial hatred and glorify war.

Such action makes the video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, liable to charges of incitement to racial hatred, the council’s vice president, Salomon Korn, told the German television Sudwestrundfunk (SDR) programme Report Mainz.

"I expect the prosecutor’s office, other relevant authorities and, if necessary, the German government to take action against this," Korn was quoted as saying in the programme due to be aired Monday night.
Programme researchers said it was possible to watch videos on You Tube of an anti-Semitic propaganda film released by the Nazis during World War II called “Jud Suess.”

Outlawed videos of the neo-Nazi groups “Kommando Freisler” and “Landser” were also available on the website, the television programme said.

You Tube is also airing since 8 months the war-glorifying clip “Sturmfuher in der SS” which, according to SDR, has already received more than 400,000 clicks.

Several German groups have warned You Tube against the hatred character of these videos.

“Jugendschutz.net", a central organization for the protection of children and young people on the Internet, had during the past months cautioned You Tube in more than 100 cases of videos stirring hatred but the company didn’t react.

Dieter Wiefelspuetz, a speaker of the SPD-faction of the Bundestag, the German federal parliament, asked the federal prosecutor to open an inquiry for incitement to hatred.
