BRUSSELS (EJP)---Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet the European Union President, Herman Van Rompuy, on Wednesday in Brussels, EJP has learned.
The meeting will take place on the eve of a two-day summit meeting of EU leaders and immediately after Netanyahu’s trip to the United States where he is to address the annual conference of the pro-Israel lobby American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Monday in Washington and meet US President Barack Obama at the White House.
Obama invited Netanyahu to meet him in Washington on Tuesday to discuss Middle East peace efforts.
The invitation was handed to Netanyahu by visiting US Middle East envoy George Mitchell at the start of a meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday.
During his Brussels visit, Netanyahu will also meet with his counterparts from Belgium, Holland and Italy, respectively Yves Leterme, Jan-Peter Balkenende and Silvio Berlusconi.
