PARIS (EJP)---Two Jewish organisations have called for a demonstration on Tuesday in Paris to protest against the terrorist attack that killed eight students in a Jewish talmudic school in Jerusalem last week.

UEJF, the Union of Jewish students in France, and Libi, an organization which helps Israeli soldiers in various projects, have called for the demonstration to be held at 6:30 pm at the Place de la République in central Paris.

France’s chief rabbi, Joseph Sitruk, is to attend the gathering.

Monday evening, a religious service in memory of the victims of the Jerusalem shooting was held at the Paris rue de la Victoire main synagogue in the presence of Israeli President Shimon Peres and leaders of the Jewish community.

Peres started Monday a 5-day state visit to France by meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the Elysée palace.
