PARIS/WASHINGTON (EJP)---French Prime Minister François Fillon will be guest of honour at the annual dinner of the American Jewish Committee, one of the major Jewish organizations in the United States.
Fillon will address the AJC gala dinner on May 1 in Washington, along with Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Last november, French President Nicolas Sarkozy was honoured by the AJC during his first visit to the US since his election.
The May 1 event will commemorate Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, and celebrate Israel's 60th birthday.
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will deliver the keynote address at the opening AJC plenary session on April 29.
More than 1,000 AJC members from across the US and leaders of Jewish communities around the world are expected to attend the meeting.
"Our annual meeting offers a unique opportunity for AJC leaders to engage with world leaders, top analysts and policymakers on the issues of utmost concern to the American Jews and Jewish communities around the globe," said AJC Executive Director David A. Harris.
