	EU to upgrade relations with Israel The EU will deepen the political dialogue with Israel and involve the country 'more closely in some EU policies like financial services or technological cooperation,' External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner said.

A delegation from the European Jewish Congress will hold high-level talks with the Slovenian European Union presidency.

Poettering said the priorities of his mandate will be the peace process in the Middle East and intercultural dialogue.

Shimon Peres was due to address the European Parliament and meet the Belgian Jewish community in April.

Germany to host conference on the Middle East in Berlin Germany will host a Mideast conference in June aimed at strengthening police and justice in the Palestinian territories.		European Parliament to discuss how EU Mideast aid is being used The European Parliament will discuss next week in Brussels developments of the situation in the Middle East and how EU aid is being used.
